Dear Chairman Vickery,
On behalf of Vulcan Materials Company Lisbon Quarry and as a partner in the Kendall County community, I submit our support for the Prairie Parkway.
Our employees in Kendall County stand ready to help supply the estimated 2 million tons of high-quality construction aggregate needed to build the connector. Lisbon Quarry and our local team are ideally positioned to produce crushed limestone that would go into road and pipe bedding, asphalt, concrete and other applications. This project means jobs for our employees, suppliers, contractors and customers.
Improving business conditions also help us to continue investment in our facility and build our partnerships with local schools and organizations including Newark FFA, Kendall County Fair and Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Prairie Parkway has been an important prospect for the area economy. It is also a much needed investment in a local infrastructure that cannot handle current demands and needs.
Given the current state of the economy, the value of Prairie Parkway is more important than ever. The project will create and support quality jobs, increase the area's accessibility for transportation and position Kendall County and the local economy for a stronger, brighter future.
We hereby voice our support for investing in Prairie Parkway because we support local jobs, economic prosperity and the best possible quality of life for the residents of Kendall County.
