What a Great Event!

Below is a letter from the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bobbi Burgstone regarding the 2007 River Night.

The Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce staff and Board of Directors are delighted with the turnout at the inaugural "River Night" event last Thursday at RiverfrontPark in Yorkville! The weather was perfect for an outdoor event, and throughout the evening, approximately 800 people were in attendance.

So many people contributed to the success of this fundraiser. We're grateful for the strong event partnership with General Manager Nathan Bales and Stonefire Restaurant & Pub in Yorkville, which provided the delicious food choices, and for the major support from Vulcan Materials Company in Lisbon as the Presenting Sponsor of "River Night".

The Chamber very much appreciates the participation of these valuable sponsors: State Bank of Illinois, Keystrokes Transcription Service, Kendall Country Record, Wyndham-Deerpoint Homes, Saint Joseph Cabinetry & Designs, Brenart Eye Clinic, Rush-Copley Medical Center, Old Second National Bank, Caterpillar, Inc., THE National Bank, Anytime Fitness of Yorkville, Wernsman Builders, Barliant & Co., Kendall Printing, SEC Group, Home Town Hello, South Bridge Gourmet Coffee, Allied First Bank, Chignoli Auto of Yorkville, McCue Builders, Beacon News, Tuscany Real Estate Investments, and Edward Health Services.

Thank you to the 72 volunteers - Chamber members, their spouses, and others in the community - who offered their time, expertise, and brawn, helping with everything from distributing "River Night" posters and posting road signs to erecting perimeter fencing to serving at tents to breaking down the event.

Special thanks goes to Sherri Farley, the Chamber's Events Coordinator, who handled a myriad of tasks to ensure a successful event.

"The Fabulous Frank & Dave" acoustic, classic rock group was so well received. The band's talent and spirit added a great dimension to the evening.

WSPY 107.1 FM hosted an entertaining live remote broadcast from the park. The Chamber thanks Grand Rental Station and Action Graphix for their extra efforts and the staffs of Keystrokes Transcription Service and Saint Joseph Cabinetry & Designs for hosting parties-within-the-party.

The Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce looks forward to hosting "River Night" again next summer! Again, thank you to everyone involved in our fundraising event. We hope you had a great time!
