Adopt-A-School Partnership
Vulcan Materials Company, the leading producer of construction aggregates and related products in the United States, firmly believes that its excellent corporate citizenship, community relations and education outreach programs are a very important element of its business and social objectives.
Newark High School is an important educational institution in Newark Community High School District No. 18 and is totally committed to the educational development of the young people entrusted to it.
Vulcan Materials Company Lisbon Quarry and Newark High School join in this Adopt-A-School relationship to advance the objectives of each entity through mutual, supportive interaction. Vulcan believes that providing tours of its operation facilities, classroom presentations and lectures, and providing appropriate supplies and materials to Newark High School will significantly advance the overall education and development of the students. Newark High School believes the active support of Vulcan and its employees will provide a needed resource to the faculty and staff of Newark High School in meeting their objective in educating students, particularly in connecting academic learning with real world requirements for achieving a successful life and career.
We, as representatives of Vulcan Materials Company Lisbon Quarry, and Newark High School respectively, believe an active, mutually supportive partnership between our organizations will promote a better education of our young people, support both business and academic objectives, and foster enhanced community relations among all involved.
Vulcan was proud to recently support the Newark High School girls basketball team in their run to the Illinois state basketball championship game. The Lisbon Quarry congratulated the Lady Norsemen by donating $500 to help cover transportation costs for the girls' trip Illinois State University. For more details, please visit the following link.
